Supporting Grassroots Music: Cardiff Council’s ALLBWN / OUTPUT Pilot Scheme

After working closely with Cardiff Council on their Music Strategy, we’re excited to share the launch of the ALLBWN / OUTPUT pilot scheme, developed by Cardiff Council in collaboration with the Cardiff Music Board. This forward-thinking initiative supports grassroots music by empowering promoters to take creative risks and showcase emerging talent in the city’s independent venues.

The scheme offers financial protection for promoters, covering potential losses on events costing up to £1,000. By addressing challenges such as the decline in active promoters—a key issue identified in our work with Cardiff Council—this initiative represents a major step toward strengthening Cardiff’s music ecosystem.

Open to new and experienced promoters, as well as self-promoting bands, the scheme provides vital support to those at the heart of the local music scene. Applications are open until January 31, 2025, with eligible events to be held by March 2, 2025.

We’re proud to see Cardiff taking actionable steps to champion its music community with programmes like this, building on the Cardiff Music Strategy to foster a vibrant and sustainable creative future.
